Heating finance across every Scottish region

Scotland's housing stock is among the most varied in the UK, and the heating needs of a home in one region can be quite different from those of a home in another. Glasgow's sandstone tenements, with their high ceilings and shared chimneys, present different challenges from the modern estates of Livingston or the stone cottages of the Borders. Edinburgh's Georgian and Victorian terraces have different heating characteristics from the post-war bungalows of Fife or the croft houses of the Highlands. Whatever type of property you live in, the survey takes these regional and architectural differences into account.

In off-gas-grid areas — much of the Highlands, parts of Argyll and Dumfries and Galloway, and the islands — air source heat pumps are an especially relevant option, replacing oil, LPG or electric heating with a low-carbon alternative. In these areas the cost of oil and LPG can fluctuate significantly, and many homeowners are looking for a heating system that is less exposed to fuel price changes. A heat pump runs on electricity, and because it extracts heat from the air, it delivers more heat energy than the electrical energy it consumes. The survey establishes whether your property is suitable and what size of heat pump is needed.

In urban areas — Glasgow, Edinburgh, Dundee, Aberdeen — boiler replacements remain the most common enquiry, often because a combi boiler has failed and the homeowner needs heating restored quickly. Finance allows the replacement to go ahead without finding the full cost upfront. We also arrange quotes for homeowners in cities who are considering switching to a heat pump, particularly where a property is well insulated or where a hybrid system offers a sensible bridge between conventional and low-carbon heating.

Whatever region you're in, the process is the same: enquiry, no-obligation survey, written quote with finance options, and MCS-certified installation if you decide to go ahead. Loans available, subject to status. If you're not sure whether we cover your area, call us with your postcode and we'll confirm.
